First of all this website is a scrappy experiment. I aim to build posts and refine the look of the website ‘live’ and ‘in public’ – so please forgive the messiness if you come across things in the early days. I am learning to edit the site as I go so it is slow going at the moment.

I am doing it this way for fear of never getting started if I need to start with a more polished product.

My name is Mr Denman and I am an experienced teacher and school leader.

This blog is about effective teaching and successful approaches to leadership in schools.

I share something different in each post, drawing together much training, reading and research that has been applied in schools over a long time.

My writing would always benefit from more careful proof-reading and edititing. I also try a bit too hard to be witty. Sorry. Not sorry. My website.
